KALRO Livestock insurance training and certification program

The KALRO Livestock Insurance Certification Programme is a blended e-learning initiative held at the Naivasha KALRO Dairy Research Institute. Its objective is to enhance livestock risk management, focusing on risk transfer solutions for bovine and poultry farming. Tailored for Heads of Livestock Insurance Contracts, Managers, and Key Decision Makers, this two-day training provides essential insights into livestock insurance.

Comprehensive modules cover topics such as insurance fundamentals, disease management, claim settlement, and poultry-specific conditions. Practical field visits to poultry farms and cattle yards complement theoretical sessions. Certified by Capdev Institute, the program strengthens resilience and operational efficiency in Kenya’s livestock sector.
