Certificate in Health Care Assistant
Health Care Assistants, also known as caregivers, are trained professionals who assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as feeding, positioning, and elimination. Their duties range from transporting, bathing, and feeding hospital patients to stocking medical supplies and logging patient information. They provide support in various settings, including hospitals, home-based care, and homes for the elderly. Additionally, they are trained to interpret basic medical instructions and assist individual patients accordingly. In a hospital setup, they provide vital support to both patients and nurses.
Learning time.
The course lasts six months, including three months of intensive coursework and two months of clinical attachment at Saint Teresa Hospital. It equips students with essential patient care skills. Upon successful completion, students are awarded a Certificate in Healthcare Assistance. New intakes occur every two months.
